Vintage Floral Fancies - Empress Josephine
Empress Josephine is a French cotton from the 1930s, almost one hundred years old and evoking the neoclassical style from the previous century when the statuesque Empire line silhouette came into fashion. The pattern is delightful, with garlands of roses and ribbons accentuated by delicate lines perfect for tiny stitches. We absolutely loved creating this colour way, the nostalgic browns, greens, apricots and periwinkle blue are so pleasantly calming. With almost 200 years of French textile history, this printed cotton is a beautiful and rare find!
Empress Josephine measures 40 × 40 cms and comes with 6 skeins of Soie d’Alger spun silk threads.
