This website is designed to allow you to book events and purchase products via our commerce platform Squarespace and payment processors Stripe and PayPal, acting data processors on behalf of Textile Tours of Paris. For the purpose of making a purchase we collect information presented by you in relation to transactions such as name, email address, contact details, and payment information.

This website may also contain links to other sites not controlled or operated by Textile Tours of Paris, such as links to educational resources and reading lists. We are not responsible for the privacy policies of websites that we do not control or operate.

The information we collect

We use the information we collect about you to help administer the services we provide to you in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation of 2018.

We collect data about you when you place an order or subscribe to our newsletter. It is our policy never to share your information to any third party other than those data processors engaged by us to provide the services as outlined in this privacy policy. We will never sell your information or disclose it to external parties unless obliged to by the rule of law.

The information you provide and how we process it

When you make a booking for one of ours tours or purchase a product, your name, address data, email and contact number will be stored in Squarespace’s data storage systems. We will retain your data for no longer than 5 years from the date of your last purchase. If you wish for your personal information to be destroyed before this you can contact us directly at textiletoursofparis@gmail.com.

Any credit card payments made online are securely processed via Stripe or PayPal. Your details are input using portals provided by, processed and retained by these third-parties purely for the purpose of completing that transaction. Credit card details are not stored or accessible to Textile Tours of Paris once processed.

Emails and newsletters

When you sign up for our newsletter, your name and email address will be stored in the Squarespace platform which is integrated with Mailchimp, our mailing platform. You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. Email marketing will only ever take place if we have received consent from you for that specific purpose and you may unsubscribe or update your settings at any time using the links at the bottom of all of our newsletters.

Information about your online interactions with us

When you visit our website, we collect information about how you interact with our content. When we send you a newsletter we store a record of this, and in the case of emails we keep a record of which ones you have opened and which links you have clicked on.

From time to time we may take photographs and/or video footage of our tours for marketing purposes. On these rare events you will always be informed of its purpose in advance and you will be asked for consent by the photographer. Photographs may be used for our website, social media networks, and other promotion purposes unless otherwise stated.

How we protect your data

Our policies and procedures limit access to your information to only those employees who need to come into contact with it to provide products and services to you. We also only work with trusted third party platforms to store and process your data.

Legal Basis

When you place a booking or make a purchase from us, you are entering into a contract with us. In order to perform this contract we need to process and store your data. For example we may need to contact you by email in the case of cancellation of a class or tour, or in the case of problems with your payment. We will also email you a confirmation of your online booking.

Cookies

This site uses cookies, small pieces of text sent to your browser when you visit a site, to help the site provide a better user experience. In general, cookies are used to retain user preferences, store information for things like shopping carts, and provide anonymised tracking data to third party applications like Google Analytics. As a rule, cookies will make your browsing experience better. You can set your browser to not accept cookies, but this may limit your ability to use our services.

Your Rights

In line with GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to access your personal data which is held by us. If you wish to exercise your right of access you can do so by making a Subject Access Request. Requests should be made in writing to textiletoursofparis@gmail.com you will be asked to complete a Subject Access Request Form and provide proof of identity before we supply the data to you. We will endeavour to deliver the data to you within 30 days of the request.

If you discover that the data we hold about you is incorrect or incomplete, you have the right to have the data corrected. If you wish to have your data corrected or deleted please contact us and we will update the information.
