Curious about embroidery? This workshop will introduce 12-15 of the basic needlework stitches with a lovely linen sampler and from here the world is your embroidered oyster! Your sampler will be a dictionary of the stitches you have learned and it will become your reference at the beginning of all future embroidered adventures…

To get us inspired I will give a little presentation on the fascinating history of embroidery samplers and how they were used in both education and seduction! You will learn how to transfer an embroidery pattern, set-up an embroidery frame and the eighteen basic embroidery stitches (straight, back, stem, blanket, fly, feather, chain, daisy chain, french knots, bullion knots, chevron, herringbone, straight satin, diagonal satin, seeding, long and short, coiling).

This course is ideal for beginners as well as experienced embroiderers who would like to add to their repertoire of stitches. All materials will be provided (embroidery hoop, threads, scissors, linen fabric, pattern and notes to remind you of the stitches). Places are limited to six so that we can enjoy learning together with lots of individual attention and tips for those with a bit more experience. If you would like to do the workshop (yay!) please do reserve your place to avoid disappointment.
