Framed with a Flourish

According to Edgar Degas, “The frame is the reward of the artist". In this course we will learn how to do just that, frame our beautiful embroideries so we can enjoy our lovely stitches, threads and fabrics. Celebrating progress and success on our embroidered journey, rather than tidying our work away in a forgotten drawer!

We'll learn four techniques to frame your work with a flourish; a classic frame, an embroidery hoop, window mounting and fabric journals. We'll learn how to choose a frame, how to stretch an embroidery across a support, how to mount it (in the centre!) and how to fix it in place. I'll also show you how to neatly mount your embroidery in an embroidery hoop. Next we’ll learn how to window mount our embroidery samples and create a lovely journal of our progress. Finally we’ll learn how to create fabric pages, another gorgeous idea for documenting your embroidered journey.
